Over many years of off-road and motocross use, certain setups have proven particularly effective – especially with two questions that we repeatedly receive: silver or black spokes and nipples, and which rim ring is the right one.

Spokes & Nipples – Silver or Black?

Black spokes and nipples provide a particularly clean look and are ideal for style-oriented builds. Those who regularly ride their bike hard off-road usually opt for silver in the long run. Silver stainless steel spokes are less susceptible to stone chips and mechanical stress and retain their high-quality appearance even after many hours of operation – a clear advantage, especially for intensively used MX or enduro bikes.

A60 or Takasago Rim Ring?

For extreme loads in tough enduro use or very aggressive riding, the reinforced Excel A60 rim ring can be useful – even more robust, even more resistant. For classic motocross use, we generally recommend the Excel Takasago rim ring. It offers the optimal balance of stability, weight, and flexibility for the MX sector.
Note: A60 rim rings are only available in black.
